About
Katherine Argue - Counsellor & Psychotherapist
Wise Beginnings developed through my training and work within addiction, mental health, and family support services. Through this experience, I became increasingly aware of how difficult it can be for people to find therapy that feels both safe and genuinely attuned to their lived experience, particularly for those carrying trauma, shame, or long standing relational wounds.
Alongside my professional training, my work has been shaped by direct clinical experience with individuals, couples, and families navigating addiction, recovery, loss, and emotional overwhelm. Through this experience, I came to recognise how important it is to create therapeutic spaces that move at a humane pace. In this kind of space, clients are not rushed, fixed, or pathologised, but met with curiosity, care, and respect for their own inner capacity.

Why Choose Us?
Rather than applying a rigid model, sessions adapt as therapy unfolds, shaped by your unique history, goals, and needs.
Trauma Informed
We offer a calm, trauma informed framework that prioritises safety, choice, and emotional attunement. The work is grounded in an understanding of how past experiences, attachment patterns, and nervous system responses shape present-day difficulties.
Integrative Approach
Our work is not limited to a single method or rigid model. Therapy is integrative and responsive, drawing from person centred, attachment informed, emotion focused, and somatic based approaches. This allows sessions to be shaped around the unique needs, history, and goals of each individual, couple, or family.
Professional Integrity
This practice is grounded in a commitment to depth and integrity. Therapy is offered with care, consistency, and clear boundaries, fostering a reliable therapeutic relationship in which clients can explore difficult experiences without fear of judgement or pressure.
